Ingenuity and innovation to the fore at PPMA 2006

1 September 2006

The growing demand for complete integrated machinery lines and the resulting importance of strong working partnerships will be key themes at the 2006 Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) exhibition, taking place from September 26-28 at Birmingham's NEC. Jonathan Baillie reports

Joint organisers the PPMA and Reed Exhibitions say the 19th PPMA exhibition (in the NEC's Hall 5) will showcase the traditional broad spectrum of machinery that has established the show as the UK's premiere event in its field; over 300 exhibitors will take part. However, in keeping with promises the exhibition will “continue to evolve”, this year's exhibition will, for the first time, also include stands dedicated to complementary tool and materials suppliers. Already over 90% of space has been sold.

Following the success of similar seminars at PPMA 2005, Packaging Today's sister publication, RFID Solutions, will be staging free RFID seminars throughout the show (on stand G120), with the emphasis on practical guidance. Other useful visitor features include a Technical Information centre, where visitors can access the most important technical details of exhibited products to compare kit and make purchasing decisions, and business advice seminars covering marketing, human resources and training

To encourage contact-making a special feature on the show website, www.ppmashow.co.uk, will enable visitors to arrange meetings with friends, peers and prospects at the PPMA Show bar. Delegates can also visit the Packaging Today stand (C20) and meet the editorial and advertising teams behind both Packaging Today and RFID Solutions.

PPMA 2006 is open from 10a.m.-5p.m. on September 26 and September 27 and from 10a.m.-4p.m. on September 28.
